Marion Hall Rice, age 90, of Columbus, Georgia passed away peacefully January 21, 2022, at Columbus Hospice. Services will be held January 25, 2022, at Striffler-Hamby Chapel. Visitation is scheduled for 1:00p.m. Dr. Kevin Calhoun will officiate the service at 2:00p.m.
Marion was born January 24, 1931, in Malvern, Alabama to Andrew Hall and Jimmie Hall Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Rice, Jr., daughter Deborah Ann Rice, and son Walter L Rice, III. Survivors include her two daughters, Jane Crisp (Donald) Columbus, Georgia, Patti Cook (Barry) Augusta, Georgia, and daughter-in-law, Polly Rice Columbus, Georgia.
Marion (Nanna) was a loved grandmother and great-grandmother of DiDe Irvin (Robert), Tracy McDaniel (Lee), Frank Cook (Erin), Parker Rice and Carter Rice. Great-grandmother of Gilliam Irvin, Madeline-Jane Irvin, Meghan Laughter (Seth), Emma McDaniel, and Lilly McDaniel.
Marion was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church and Senior Joy Ministry. She was an X-ray technician at Columbus Health Department for over 35 years. In retirement she was employed by Hilton Terrace Baptist Church as an administrative assistant.
