Martha Brooks, age 78, of Weirsdale, Florida passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. A visitation for family and friends of Martha will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A celebration of Martha's life will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
Martha was born in Columbus, Georgia on March 1, 1943; the daughter of Roy G. Olds and Jewel Whigham Olds. Martha graduated from Baker High School, she met a young man named Delma at the Patio, a teenage hangout spot. It was at the Patio where she said, “I’m gonna marry him one day”. They were married on June 3rd, 1960 at Church of God on Cusseta Rd. She loved playing the piano, working with her plants, working on her flower beds, and playing video games and on her computer. Martha loved to teach you how to cook. She had a cure for everything that ailed you. She was always there to lend an ear and help you in any situation.
Martha enjoyed her life being surrounded by family. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and spoiling every one of them. They always had her smiling and her laugh was contagious. Martha would want to be remembered by her love for her family, and for her patience in any situation.
She is preceded in death by: her loving husband, Delma Brooks; her father, Roy G. Olds; her mother, Jewell Olds; and her brother, Danny Olds.
Survivors include a son, Delmer Brooks; a son, Timothy Brooks; a daughter, Robin Brooks Schomp; a son-in-law, Andrew Schomp; 5 grandchildren, Bradley Dees, Joshua Dees, Aubrey Breeden, Kristina LeBlanc, and Jacob Brooks; 4 step-grandchildren, Daniel Lawson, Marilyn Booth, Ashley Hoeft, and Dadota Davis; and 8 great grandchildren, Grace Dees, Bennett Dees, Haven Breeden, Avery Breeden, Reid LeBlanc, Madilyn Booth, Carter Booth, Edith Booth, and Jessie Davis.
