Martha Ellen Sista Watson Watson Sanders

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Ga. with Reverend Paul Thomas and Reverend James Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, John Paul Cooper, Dalton Whittle, Christopher Moss, Zach Moss, Josh Harper, Jessie Harper, Paden Edwards, Bryson Harper and Randy Wilkes. The family will receive friends Tuesday, evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sanders was born in Columbus, GA. on November 30, 1944 to the late Jack Watson and Louise Newsome Watson. She was a lifelong Resident of Columbus and was a member of Central Assembly of God. Mrs. Sanders was crowned the 1953 Boogaville Beauty Queen. She retired from AHP Medical Supply where she worked as an Inspector. Her husband Roy Sanders and brother, Billy Ray Watson, Sr. preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria Whittle and Kevin of Columbus, a son Scott Wilkes of Columbus, two sisters, Mary Helen Watson McBride of Columbus and Carol Ann Watson Shearer of Columbus, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and great nephews and her longtime companion, C.L. Bush of Columbus.
