Martha was born on March 3, 1935, in Three Notch, Alabama to Lillian and Morgan Johnston. She met Ivie Houston Parsons, Jr. while in college, to who she was married for 39 years. She will be remembered for the love she had for her family, friends and flowers. The family would like to give a big thank you to her caregiver, Brenda Daniel, and to Columbus Hospice.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ivie Houston Parsons, Jr., her mother, Lillian Williamson Johnston and her father, Morgan Parker Johnston. Survivors include her daughter, Laura Parsons Wise; her granddaughter, Ivey Wise Lapidus (Joshua); her sister, Francis Johnston Rutland; her nephew, Joseph Raoul Rutland, Jr. and family; and her niece, Francis Rutland Whittle and family.
