Martin “Marty” David Gunnarsson, age 22, resident of Columbus, passed away on June 2, 2016. A Memorial service will be held in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA 31907, on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:00am. The family will receive friends with food and refreshments following the service.
Marty, son of David and Cynthia Gunnarsson, was born June 22, 1993 in Columbus, Georgia. He graduated from Northside High School in 2011. Marty was also an Eagle Scout, he earned his eagle badge in the 10th grade and was in Boy Scouts since he was a young boy. Marty was a very caring and kind person. He loved all kinds of animals and would do anything for family or a friend.
He is survived by his parents; his “grand-daddy”, Eugene Rooks; grandma, Alice Gunnarsson; uncle, Chuck Rooks; his loving companion “Popeye” the cat; and many friends.
