Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 8, 2011 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bentley was born October 27, 1920 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late William and Bessie Kendrick McCune. She was a member of Glenn Anthony Baptist Church and former member of Oates Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Bentley retired from Eagle and Phenix Mills after 49 years of dedicated service.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bentley was preceded in death by her husband, Ree Bentley, and a sister, Gloria Carter.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann B. Hamby and her husband, Raymond of Columbus, GA; two grandsons, Bill Hamby, and Homer Hamby; 2 great grandchildren, Jonathan Hamby and Daniel Hamby.
