Mary Ann Clark, age 84, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020. A Celebration of Mary Ann's Life will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 1:00 PM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. A private committal will follow at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Mary Ann was born November 12, 1935 in Columbus, Georgia to Mattie Phillips Wilkinson and Dave Wilkinson. She grew up in Columbus and graduated from Jordan High School. After graduation she soon met and fell for the love of her life, soldier, Gene Edward Clark. Mary Ann became a military wife and she and Gene traveled and moved extensively. At the end of her husband’s military career, Gene and Mary Ann came back to Columbus to raise their family near relatives and friends. Mary Ann was employed by CB&T Bank (Synovus) as a Pay Site Coordinator at Fort Benning. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Mary Ann loved the Lord and lived a Christian life. She was a positive and happy person who was easily amused and quick to smile. Mary Ann taught her children by example to love unconditionally and to be good parents. She loved Christmas, other family traditions and her special friends with her Bridge Group. Mary Ann will always be remembered for her love of the Lord and her family.
Husband, Gene Edward Clark; father, Dave Wilkinson; mother, Mattie Phillips Wilkinson; and sister, Fay Faison, preceded Mary Ann in death. She is survived by son, Richard Clark; daughter, Diana Green, and son-in-law, Todd Green; brother, George Wilkinson, and sister-in-law, Judy Wilkinson; sister, Joy Royal; sister, Sandra Parker, and brother-in-law, Jimmy Parker; grandchildren, Mattie Green and Davin Green; nieces; nephews; other family members and a multitude of friends.
