Mary Ann Deason

Mary was born March 25, 1942 to Ruby Mainor Eubanks and Jessie Eubanks. She was married to the late SFC (Ret) Jimmy Edward Deason for 47 years before his passing in October of 2013. They lived in Columbus since 1966 making it their home for their four children. After Jimmy's retirement and raising her family she worked with the Muscogee County School District as a Crossing Guard at Lonnie Jackson Elementary School for 27 years. She loved her family and all her kids at the crossing.

Mary is survived by; son John Amos Garner; daughter Wanda Carol (Andy) Newsome; son Michael C. Deason; and daughter Sandra Kay (Jeremy) Thorn; sister-in-law Debbie Eubanks and sister-in-law Barbara Eubanks; grandson James Kirton, grandson Deshawn Morton, grandson Jeremy Thorn and grandson Hunter Thorn. Mrs. Deason also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives to cherish her loving memory.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Edward Deason; father Jessie Eubanks and mother Ruby Mainor Eubanks; brother Johnny Eubanks; brother Jimmy Eubanks; brother Bennie Eubanks and sister Ruth Mainor Jenkins.

A funeral service for Mary will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby , Columbus, Georgia. A visitation will occur Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia. A committal service will follow the service at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Alabama at 1:30 PM.
