Mary "Cathy" Catherine Wells

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 20, 2021 in the Edgewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. Pastor Paul Thomas and Pastor Bud Rupel will be officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

In keeping with the efforts to control the spread of COVID-19, social distancing guidelines will be followed and face mask will be required.

Mary was born April 4, 1961 in Savannah, GA, daughter of Billie Jean Miller Cruz-Hill and the late William Fred Woodrum, Sr.

Cathy, as everyone called her, was a friend to everyone. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was always laughing and smiling, and if you were around her you were always laughing. She was funny and had the brightest personality. She was a very strong woman and she raised her kids to be strong, just like her.

In addition to her father, Mary was preceded in death by two uncles, Scotty Miller and James Miller, and niece Shannon Aquiningoc.

Survivors include her four children, David Brice Turner, Charles Franklin Turner, Stuart Mills-Wells and Cecilia Mills-Wells; former husband, Stuart Lee Wells; her mother, Billie Jean Cruz-Hill and her husband, Arthur; her four siblings, Cynthia Hoover (Samuel), Vickie Kern (Keith), William Fred Woodrum, Jr., (Rhonda), and Angela Cruz; three grandchildren, Cailey Turner, Maddox Turner, and Lawson Turner; aunt, Shirley Fortney and unlce Jackie Miller; Cousin, Stachelle Miller; 15 nieces and nephews, Shawn Apiag, Craig Apiag, Lorenzo Aquiningoc, Samantha Murray (John), Maria Kern, Alice David (Jonathan), Dakota Woodrum, Courtney Bishop, Cheslea Rivera, Melissa McColley, Dale Hoover, Christiana Harris (Evan), Leila Cruz, Elijah Cruz-Crocker and Isabella Cruz-Crocker; numerous great nieces and nephews.
