Masako Combs, 91, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born November 12, 1931 in Naha City, Okinawa. She was the daughter of the late Seishu Gushiken and Oto Tamayose.
She was a doting wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Ft. Moore International Wives Club and GA Ryuku Kyo Yu Kai. Some of her favorite hobbies were Okinawan folk dancing, sewing, crocheting, and origami.
Masako is survived by the her caring children, Joann Combs and Carl (Connie) Combs; her grandchildren, Joshua Renfrow, Jessica Sellers, Zachary Combs, Jordan Combs, and Rylee Combs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Cletis Combs; her daughter, Carol Renfrow; and her brother, Masamori Gushiken.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 2:00PM. Family will visit with friends one hour prior. Burial will be held privately with her immediate family at Fort Moore Main Post National Cemetery.
