Melinda Stockdaile, 71, of Columbus Georgia, entered her heavenly home on August 28, 2023. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Melinda, originally of Clio, Alabama, attended and graduated from Jordan High School. She married the late Benny Stockdaile and remained his faithful and loving wife for 46 years. Melinda retired from Muscogee County School District and was a member of Glenn Anthony Baptist Church. She loved to work in the yard and loved to plant flowers. Her family was her whole world, especially her grandchildren. She was the strongest, most resilient, kind hearted and loving mother, Grammy, and friend. Melinda will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Melinda is preceded in death by her Husband, Benny Stockdaile; Parents, Paul and Sarah Smith, and Frank and Vela Mae Ramsey; and Sister, Janet Cabezas.
Melinda is survived by her Children, Burt Stockdaile, and Melisha (Mathew) Plemons; Grandchildren, Brian Stockdaile, Blake Stockdaile, Madison Goodson, Brooklyn Plemons, and Olivia Plemons; Brother, Paul Dwayne (Shan) Smith; Sisters, Brenda Heyward and Bobby Ann Ward; Brother-in-law, Larry Stockdaile and Danny (Cheryl) Stockdaile. Several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
