Michael served in the US Navy, a chapter of life that reflected both steady devotion and an adventurous spirit. He later worked in the construction business, where his hard-working nature showed through in the daily commitment it takes to build, repair, and provide—work done with care, persistence, and pride.
Away from work, Michael loved the outdoors and enjoyed watching sports. In those simple, familiar pleasures, friends and family also knew the warmth of his humor—an easy presence that could lighten a moment and bring people closer together.
Michael is survived by his wife, Tammy Kite; his children, Christopher Kite and Crystal Gaither; his grandchildren, Skylar Kite, Jayden Gaither, and Gracie Gaither; his sister, Kathy Moore; and his aunt, Anne Carmichael.
Graveside services with US Navy Honors will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 12:30 pm. at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.
