Mike L. Polachek, 86, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 2:30 PM eastern time at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856.
Mike was born on October 20, 1939, in Donora, Pennsylvania to Ruby and Michael Polachek. He served his country in the United States Army for a total of ten years, fighting in the Vietnam War and receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. On Sundays he would attend Wynnbrook Baptist Church where he served the Lord. He was a proud member of the Republican Association and loved his fast cars and eating Mexican food.
Michael is survived by his sister, Margo Davis; his nephew, Samuel Davis; his niece, Qiong Jian Grace Davis; his great nieces, Gwynivere Davis and Gidian Aiden Davis and his dear friends, Tammy and Mike Ward.
He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Polachek; his mother, Ruby Mick Polachek; his sister, Jeanne Polachek and his brother in law, John Wilson Davis.
