Mildred L. Kelley, 88, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018, at Magnolia Manor. Her son, Jerry Kelley, would like to invite friends and loved ones for visitation on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 12:00 noon with a Celebration of Life funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA, with Reverend Charles Hays and Reverend Daniel Odean officiating. Committal to follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Mildred Lucile Kelley was born December 13, 1929, in Coffee County, AL. to the late Idell Jackson and Grover Cleveland Scarborough. Mrs. Kelley devoted her entire life as a Christian who sought after God’s own heart by serving her family, her community, and with her church. Mildred was a loving mother and faithful partner to her husband of 51 years, the late Buster “Buck” Frank Kelley. She will be missed by her many friends at Benning Park Assembly of God, and Edgewood Assembly of God.
Mildred is survived by: her son, Jerry Frank Kelley; sister, Ruby Nell Boland; brother, John Scarborough; nieces, Brenda, Elizabeth, Donna, Sherri, Rebecca, Magdalene, Melissa, Nell, Etheline, Angela, Jackie and Debbie, nephews, Mark, Austin, Matthew, Don, Wayne, Blake, and Jamie, a cousin Sara Nell. Mildred also leaves behind her loving cat, Blackie, also many other friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly.
