A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Mildred began each day in quiet devotion, anchored in prayer and reading her Bible. Her quiet strength and joy came from her walk with the Lord. She was an active and cherished member of Benning Hills Baptist Church and later Schomburg Road Baptist Church, where she deeply appreciated her pastors and absorbed the Word of God. Everything she learned, she faithfully instilled in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love, grace, and faith.
Mildred lived her life with energy, warmth, and boundless generosity. Always seeking to help anyone she encountered, she opened her heart and her home to people in need, taking them in without hesitation simply because it was in her nature to care for others.
Everyone truly loved and enjoyed her mouthwatering, traditional southern-style cooking, and no one ever left her house hungry. She was an extraordinary cook and baker—famous above all for her legendary banana pudding and comforting home-cooked meals. Her grandbabies, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren especially cherished visiting her house, running straight to her fridge for treats, and simply enjoying her warm, loving presence.
Above all, Mildred poured her heart into her family and serving others. Her life was a true testament to God's love in action, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many precious great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
