Millard served honorably in the U.S. Army, enlisting on June 4, 1948. He was awarded the Purple Heart on September 18, 1950 after serving in the Korean War where he sacrificed the sight in his left eye. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant specializing in machine gun training. He dedicated his life to taking care of his wife and four children, putting their needs before his own. He was the love of our lives and the hero of our family. Our hearts are broken but we know he is at peace and is spending eternity in Heaven. Millard was a member for many years of Ladonia Baptist Church, Phenix City, Alabama.
The family would like to thank Lorene Ferguson and Relisha Sistrunk. We are forever grateful for the love and care they gave to our dad.
