“Mrs. Min” as she was known, was the wife of the late Rev. Paul (Preacher Paul) Callicutt. Born in Columbus, GA, she was the only child of the late George W. and Claire Allmond Wright.
Mrs. Min was always active in Vacation Bible School, the WMU, the choir, and various other church activities. Her greatest joy was her family.
Surviving are her three children: Paul (Debbie) Callicutt, Jr of Summerville, SC, Brenda (Alan) Corell of Valrico, FL, and Beverly Callicutt of Valrico, FL; surviving daughters of the heart: Michelle Thomas-Draper and Chere’ Thomas Wallace; grandchildren: Vicki (Eric) Swinger of Hendersonville, TN, James (Gabriela) Corell of Dallas, TX, Robb (Heidi) Corell of Riverview, FL, Shana (Anthony) Rentz of Cherryville, NC, Alison (Nik) Sigwald of Aiken, SC, Tyler (Sarah) Papalski of Dover, NH, and Melissa Bone of Summerville, SC; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister Brenda Spivey Hall of Columbus, GA; cousins Lynn Pollock, Cathy Pollock Swiney, and Stephen Swiney all of Upatoi, GA.
She was predeceased by Louellar “Granny” Wright Flournoy, Mae “Ma Perk” Flournoy Perkins: sisters of the heart Althea Perkins Gore, Eria Perkins Pollock, Sarah Jean Warren, brother of the heart Rev. Glenn Spivey, and grandson Bryan Bone. Just a personal mention about our mother: she was the only surviving child raised during the Depression. God gave her a wonderful aunt and cousin (Granny Flournoy and Ma Perk) who raised her from birth through childhood, along with a loving family, the Spiveys, who cared for her after. The siblings of both families considered her their sister. We wanted to honor their memory and surviving members by representing them as such.
A graveside service will be held November 9, 2024, at 11 am in Parkhill Cemetery, Macon Rd, Columbus, GA.
