Molly Weed Greer, 102 years old, went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2022. Molly spent most of her life in Columbus, GA but had lived with her son, Wayne and daughter-in-law, Sandy in Matawan, NJ for the last eight years.
She was born on May 3, 1919 to the late John Wilbur and Sarah Elizabeth (Melton) Weed in Cusseta, GA.
She married Elisha James Greer on April 8, 1939. They were blessed with two sons: James Wayne Greer and George Phillip Greer.
After graduating from high school, Molly worked for the Tom Huston Peanut Company for over 40 years. She had many interests including sewing, quilting, and gardening, but, most of all she enjoyed visits with family and friends.
Molly is survived by: her son, Wayne; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives, friends and neighbors, all of whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Elisha and son, Phillip.
Funeral arrangements have been made at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. On Saturday, February 19th there will be a viewing and funeral service at 9:00 AM. Immediately following, Molly will be laid to rest in the Parkhill Cemetery.
