Monty Clark, age 52, resident of Upatoi, GA, died on Friday, May 13, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital. Memorial services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 2 p.m. Monty, son Martha Elizabeth Scruggs Clark and the late Johnny Earl Clark, was born September 27, 1958 in Jacksonville, FL. He played a vital role in many lives throughout his lifetime. Monty was a son, father, brother, grandfather, husband, friend, and mentor. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off of his back. But he would be the first person to let you know if you were not doing things correctly. Monty was the BOSS, but when you earned his friendship you had a friend for life. Monty was so proud of his family and friends and boasted about them often. “Happy Go Lucky” is the perfect phrase to describe Monty Clark. He is an inspiration to the friends, family, and acquaintances that he left behind and will truly be missed by all. Monty is survived by his wife, Becky Revis Clark; two sons, Kyle P. (Kim) Clark and Jonathan H. (Bree) Clark; daughter, Jennifer Bishop; mother, Martha “MeMaw” Clark; three brothers, John (Jan) Clark, Michael Clark, and Fred Clark; one sister, Gina “Brian” Lovern; one grandson, Jace Gatlin; two future grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. “You are my husband, my best friend, my rock, my world. I love you so much and my heart will ache for you every day. You are in my thoughts and my prayers, but most of all, my heart, forever and always. I’ll always Love you, Slammer! With all my heart, Your South Carolina Red Neck, 25.”
