Myrtice F Wallace

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel with Rev. Ken Mauldin officiating. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Mrs. Wallace was born May 27, 1917 in Bullochville, GA (now Warm Springs) to the late Ben Fowler and Nancy Wall Fowler. She was a homemaker and member of Gentian Baptist Church where she was very active until her later years. Mrs. Wallace, affectionately known as "Munnie", was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She also did beautiful hand work. Her many afghans and quilts have been passed down to members of her family. Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Doug Wallace; one sister, Mary Emma Chun; and two brothers, Benjamin Fowler and Wilmer Fowler. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Glynn and Winfield Flanagan, a son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Adrianne Wallace; five grandchildren, Shannon Sorrell and her husband, Ben, Allison King, Ben Wallace and his wife, Carrie Beth, Harrison Wallace and his wife, Lulie, and Carter Wallace; four great-grandchildren, Connor and Andrew King and Mallory and Mary Wallace Sorrell. The family would like to express their appreciation to those who were so faithful in their support during her illness expecially her long-time caregiver, Lillie Flowers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Vista Care Hospice at Franciscan Woods, 2425 Williams Road, Columbus, GA 31904, or to a church or charity of your choice.
