

A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 28, 2011 in The Porter Chapel of First Baptist Church of Columbus with Dr. James C. Elder, Jr. officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery according to Striffler - Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Swint was born April 5, 1923 in Chipley, GA the daughter of the late James Thomas Armstrong and the late Margaret Frances Myhand Armstrong. She was an United States Army Air Corp veteran of World War II.
Mrs. Swint retired from Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Columbus as the manager of payroll after thirty three years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus and the Pilot Club. She was a graduate of Chipley High School and attended Columbus College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ruben Swint.
Survivors include her son, Ruben K. Swint and his wife, Margie of Snellville, GA A grandson, Christopher R. Swint; two sisters, Peggy A. Smith of Pine Mt., GA and Myra Wright of Orange, TX; twenty one nieces and nephews.
