Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2010 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, with Reverend Tommy Henschel officiating. Interment will follow at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, GA.. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Burton was born in Vienna, Austria on October 28, 1924 to the late Theodore Binder and Karoline McCasey Binder. She had lived in Columbus for over 40 years and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her husband, Richard E. Burton preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy “Dot” Dietrich of Columbus, sons, Richard Burton (Karen) of Alpharetta, GA. James Burton (Cathy) of Columbus, Raymond Burton (Angela) of Cataula, GA, sisters, Ernestine Gregorich, Alfrieda Kratowill and Theodora Sabo, 11 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
