Obituary of Patricia "Pat" Colleen Eyler
Patricia C. “Pat” Eyler, a loving Mom, Granny, Sister and Friend passed away, Wednesday August 3, 2022 at her home in Box Springs, GA. Pat was born March 9, 1948 in Minneapolis, MN. to the late Dorothy Peterson O’Neill and Eugene O’Neill. After traveling the world with her husband and children during his military service, and living at several Army locations, they decided to make Georgia their home, which transplanted her to the South. She worked as an office manager at Gayfers Department Store until her retirement and still enjoyed meeting with her “Gayfers” friends for their monthly luncheon. She loved gardening, the wildlife that visited her home in the country, fishing in her backyard and most of all spending time with her loving family and friends. She made friends easily, never meeting a stranger and had several close friends that were always by her side. There are not enough words to express her kindness, compassion and selflessness for everyone. She truly was a beautiful soul. Our hearts are heavy with her departure but knowing we will meet again one day keeps our hearts sound in this time of sadness. She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her daughter, Gina Eyler; her son, Todd Eyler; her grandchildren, whom she adored: T.J. Eyler (Ashley), Taylor Creech (Jordan) and Forrest Eyler (Markaya); her great grandchildren, whom she adored: Paisley Eyler and Noey Wood; her sister Sharon Robertson; numerous, nieces, nephews and a host of lifelong friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Eugene O’Neill; her husband, Sanford Eyler; her brothers, Tommy and Mike O’Neill, her great niece, Kristina McKenna and a few special friends. Family and Friends will visit on Monday, August 15,2022, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Mill Room at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia. A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, GA. with Reverend Jimbo Albrecht officiating. A funeral procession will follow the service to Fort Benning, GA. for burial in the Main Post Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, Pat requested that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be shared at www.shcolumbus.com with the Eyler Family.
