She was born in Great Falls, Montana in the spring of 1947 on St. Patrick’s Day to the late Kathryn Helen Graham Raunig and Frank W. Raunig. Patricia was proud of her Irish heritage, and to be born on St. Patrick’s Day, was an honor in itself.
Patricia was a teacher by trade, and she spent many years teaching preschool age children at Miss PennyPats Preschool in Great Falls, MT. After leaving the preschool, she became a private nanny to a wonderful family in Herndon, VA.
Patricia moved to Columbus, GA about 20 years ago to live with her daughter, Melissa and her family. She loved her family and spending time with them. She was a board member of Edgewood Senior Center and enjoyed playing games and visiting with her friends there.
Patricia is survived by her sisters Joyce Hanson (Montana), Marj Raunig (Washington), Judith Raunig-Graham (Washington), and sister-in-law Helen Raunig (Montana). She was preceded in death by her brother Gerald Raunig (Montana).
Patricia leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her daughter Melissa Fleshman and son-in law Sonny (Columbus, GA); her son Jason Holley and daughter-in-law Shannon (Kansas); AFS daughter Silvana Mello and son-in-law Mauricio (Brazil); grandchildren Kathryn Fleshman, Maeve Holley, Jenna Holley, Duncan Holley and wife Stacey, Melissa de Mello and husband Daniel Lopes, Daniele Mello; and great grandchildren Donatello Holley, Stefan Holley, and Silvia Lopes.
Patricia’s wishes were to be cremated and returned to her cherished Montana home. There will be no services at this time.
Patricia was an avid animal lover. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to Animal Ark Rescue, 7133 Sacerdote Lane, Columbus, GA 31907.
