Pearl L. Spangler , beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died July 5 at home in Columbus, Georgia. She was 85.
Pearl Lillian Kallunki was born in Fairbanks, Alaska. She moved to Washington, DC after she and her husband met while both were attending University of Alaska in Anchorage. She later moved to Kensington, Maryland where she resided for more than 45 years. She moved to Columbus, Ga near her daughter in 2004. Mrs. Spangler was a C & P Telephone Company retiree.
Her husband of 39 years, Nelson Lyle Spangler, Sr. died in 1990
While living in Columbus, Ga she regularly attended Trinity Episcopal Church.
A memorial service for Lillian will be held Thursday, July, 9th at 6pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1130 First Ave. Columbus, Ga 31901

She is survived by her three children, Nelson Spangler, Jr.(Andrea Bassoff) of Hyattsville, Md., Kristen Hedden (Jeffrey Hedden) of Smith’s Station, Alabama, and Paul Spangler of Kensington, Md; a granddaughter, Jessica Bishop (Mike Bishop), and two great-grandchildren (Shelby and Catie Bishop) of Cartersville, Ga.
