

Peggy Sue Caldwell, age 75, resident of Phenix City, AL died on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Vista Care Hospice of Franciscan Woods, Columbus. Memorial services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Thursday, June 23, 2011, 3 p.m. with Reverend Taylor Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 1-3 p.m. Mrs. Caldwell, daughter of the late David Herman Roper and Mittie Pearl Enfinger Roper, was born March 7, 1936 in Geneva, AL. She was Baptist by faith, and a member of ABWA. Mrs. Caldwell worked faithfully at Sunshine Biscuit Company for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge James Howard Caldwell and four brothers, J.C. Roper, John Calvn Roper, Lewis Herman Roper, and Floyd Ellis Roper. She is survived by one son, Philip Rhett Blu of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Dorothy Jean Campbell of Fort Walton Beach, FL; two step-daughters, Carol Caldwell and husband Stuart Edmondson of Alpharetta, GA and Kathi Segrest and her husband Phil of Opelika, AL; one step-son, Kirk Caldwell and wife Twana of Evans, GA; one step-grandson, Austin Caldwell of Evans, GA; several nephews and nieces; other relatives and friends.
