Columbus, Georgia- Phillip "Phil" Jackson, age 64, resident of Columbus, died on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, 1 p.m. with Reverend Mike Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home with reception prior to the service on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m.
Mr. Jackson, son of the late Owen Gipson Jackson, Jr. and Edna Earle McClinton Jackson, was born January 23, 1949 in Augusta, Georgia. He was employed and faithfully served Liberty National Life Insurance for over 25 years and had formerly worked at Skinner's Furniture. He was an avid car enthusiast and was a member of the local Corvette Club.
Mr. Jackson is survived by two sisters, Sheri Price and her husband Jack of Hamilton, Georgia and Suzy Cook and her husband Ronnie of McCalla, Alabama; nieces, LeAnne Kennedy and her husband Jeff, Lisa Blair and her husband Earl, Leah Braxton and her husband Mike, and Kellie Cook; nephews, Ron Cook and Rick Cook and his wife Theresa; numerous great-nieces; numerous great nephews; one great-great nephew; lifelong friend, Diane Dowling of Jacksonville, Florida; numerous other friends.
