Rebecca "Becky" Margaritis, age 72, of Green Island Hills, Columbus, Georgia, took her final peaceful rest in her sleep on July 27, 2023. Born on February 21, 1951, in Butler, Georgia, Becky brought joy and laughter to those around her throughout her life.
Becky's childhood was spent in Columbus, where she attended Hardaway High School. She later went on to earn a Master's degree and dedicated her professional life to special education teaching.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of many years, Nicholas John Margaritis, her daughter Stacey Borders, her mother Melba Skipper, and her brother Michael Skipper. Becky was a loving wife, mother, and daughter. Her loved ones remember her uncanny luck and ability to bring humor and levity to any situation. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 3, 2023 in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907. The Reverend Chuck Hasty will be officiating as we celebrate Becky's life and the joy she brought to us all. Burial to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will gather at 9:00 AM, followed by a visitation open to all who wish to pay their respects from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
