She retired in 2010 after 25 years with Synovus, originally CB&T.
She loved reading, gardening, interior decorating, and watching her favorite team, the Atlanta Braves, play baseball.
Rebecca is survived by her daughter Melissa Kirkland, son James Dowding, his children Blaine and Addilyn, and husband Bruce Starling.
She is also survived by her brother Jim Tucker, sisters Betty Dunn and Karen Mercer (Tom), and step-sister Brenda Maynard.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Horan, step-father George Horan, sisters Lani Tucker and Rosemary Baker, and brother William Tucker.
A visitation will be held at Striffler Hamby on Macon Rd on Friday September 18th at 10:00am, with a graveside service to follow at 11am. A light lunch will be served.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her name.
