Richard "Rickey" Walter Upton

Memorial funeral services for Mr. Upton will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Olive Branch United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jim Emery officiating. Interment will follow at Culpepper Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Olive Branch United Methodist Church.

Mr. Upton was born a twin on October 21, 1959 in Columbus, Georgia, son of Mildred June Upton and Leroy Upton Jr. He graduated from Kendrick High School and worked for over 30 years in floral design. Mr. Upton was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church. Rickey will be remembered as a man who loved his family and who was a good and faithful friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rickey was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Wayne Upton. Survivors include his mother and father, Mildred June and Leroy Upton, Jr. of Talbot County, GA; his sisters Marilyn L. (Chris) Plummer of Moultrie, GA and Dennise Brogdon of Talbot County, GA; his niece, Miranda L. (James) Stamm of Eielson AFB, Alaska; nephews, Robert Benjamin Brogdon (Rachel Griffin) of Talbot County, GA, Michael Upton Jr., and Aaron LB Upton of Oklahoma City, OK; and special great-nieces and nephew, Emily and Charlee McCormick and Chase Brogdon.
