Robert E. Sr. Locey Sr.

Funeral services with military honors will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday March 11, 2011 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 with burial to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Reverend Darrick will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Locey was born one of ten children on December 5, 1931 in London, OH son of the late Curtis E. Locey and Georgia J. Locey. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Locey, 1 sister, 3 brothers and a 1 grandchild.

Mr. Locey was a retired insurance agent, a retired U.S. Army veteran of Korea and Vietnam retiring at the grade of First Lieutenant after serving 21 years of faithful service to his country. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a member of the Senior men’s Sunday School Class and was an ordained deacon of the church.

Survivors include his children, Lin Doucette of Columbus, Peggy J. Kash of Winter Gardens, FL, Karon S. Locey of Columbus, Teresa E. Locey of Columbus, Robert E. Locey Jr. of Chattanooga, TN and Patti Jones of Columbus, 3 sisters, Virginia Freeman of Whittakers, NC, Connie Spillman of Washington Court House, OH and Sharon Barren of Bloomingburg, OH, 2 brothers, Harold E. Locey of Columbus and Earnest Lynch of Washington Court House, OH, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
