A Memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 1:00PM until 3:00PM in the Mill Room at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia. Please join his family in Remembrances during this time.
Robert was born on March 8, 1960 to the late Hildegard Elizabeth Kerdels Ponder and Robert Oscar Ponder Jr. at the Army hospital in Ft. Benning, Georgia. He grew up in the Columbus area where he called home. He was the manager for Super Sonic Car Wash locations. Robert was a son, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves his sister and her husband, Pat and James Meadows, significant other, Jody Downey; nieces, Jennifer and Elizabeth Meadows; nephew, Timothy Meadows; great nieces, Avery and Addison Meadows and his extended family of Aunts, Uncles and cousins from Dalton, Georgia to cherish his memory.
