Robert was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 21, 1982, to Robert Wolfenberger and Twila Jenkins of Columbus, OH. He entered the United States Army in January 2004. Robert served our great country for 11 and a half years in United States Army as an Infantryman. SSG Wolfenberger served on three combat deployments in support of OIF (Iraq) and OEF (Afghanistan).
While serving in the United States Army, SSG Wofenberger earned the Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Pathfinder Badge, and the Basic Parachutist Badge. Robert also was awarded the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal (4 oak leaf clusters), the Army Achievement Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Army Good Conduct Medal (3 oak leaf clusters), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/ two Campaign Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal w/ Campaign Star, Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (2nd award), Overseas Service Ribbon (3 oak leaf clusters), and the NATO Medal. SSG Wolfenberger was medically retired from the United States Army July 30, 2015.
SSG Wolfenberger is survived by his mother, Twila Jenkins and his brother, James Wolfenberger.
