Ronald “Ron” O’Neal Sanders, 62, of Mauk, Georgia, passed away on June 28, 2026. Born December 12, 1963, in Columbus, Georgia, Ron was the beloved only child of the late Alfus O’Neal Sanders and the late Beverly Jean Moye Sanders.
Throughout his life, Ron was known as a hard-working man who met each day with steady determination and pride in doing things the right way. His career in semi driving and towing reflected a dependable spirit—one that could be counted on in demanding moments and long hours, and one that carried a deep respect for honest work.
Ron’s sense of adventure and his young-at-heart outlook were evident in the ways he chose to spend his time. He found joy in hiking and in the quiet strength of the outdoors. He also had a lasting appreciation for vintage cars and tow trucks, and he enjoyed travel—always ready for the next road, the next view, the next place that might feel like a discovery.
Ron is survived by his children, Robert Sanders (Kelly), Justin Sanders (Jennifer), and Sarah Clark (Frankie); eight grandkids; and three great grandkids.
Visitation for Family and Friends will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Mill Room, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907, on July 2, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A Celebration of Ron’s Life will follow at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Mill Room, on July 2, 2026, at 10:00 am.
Ron will be laid to rest at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus.
