Roy Garner Jr.

Roy Garner Jr., age 65, resident of Columbus, went to be with the Lord after a long illness on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Gentiva Hospice. Funeral service is scheduled on Sunday, January 18, 2015, 3:00pm with Reverend Andy Merritt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00pm. Private burial will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Parkhill Cemetery.

Mr. Garner, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Garner, was born June 4, 1949 in Columbus, Georgia. He was an avid fisherman and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Mr. Garner worked for Columbus productions as Pressman and later on Safety Director for over 45 years.

He was blessed with four girls who he loved very much.

Mr. Garner was preceded in death by his daughter, Renee’ Riles; sisters, Patricia Chadwick and Kim Fletcher. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Garner; daughters, Tammy Beck of Manchester, GA., Melanie Iarvobino of Columbus, Amber Treadwell of LaGrange, GA.; sisters, Betty McGuire, Faye Smith (Ray), Sandy Puckett (Jimmy); seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
