A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, Georgia 31907. Following the visitation will be a service to celebrate her life at graveside in Parkhill Cemetery with Pastor Derrick Millirons officiating.
She was born in Phenix City, Alabama to the late Alice Robinson Carroll and Audley Carroll on February 6, 1930. Ruth was married to George W. Cole, Jr. She was Christian by faith and loved her family dearly. Ruth enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also loved to eat popcorn while watching movies and westerns on television. Ruth was very fond of her fur baby “Hachi” who was very protective of her as well. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved her.
Ruth leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her daughter, Peggy (Terry) Dutton; her granddaughters Tiffany (Mike) Moody, and Jamie Roy; her grandsons Chris Thomas, and J.T. (Angela) Dutton; her great granddaughters Savannah Roy and Mallory Dutton; her great grandsons Christopher Hobson, Christian Thomas, Preston Roy, and Ashton Kemp; and her fur baby Hachi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Audley Carroll; her husband George W. Cole, Jr.; her daughter Susan D. Cole; and her brother Hugh Long.
