Sandra Annette Maier passed on August 14, 2026, at the age of 85. Sandra was a resident of Columbus, Georgia. A Visitation will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, on August 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:50 am, the Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am.
Sandra was born July 12, 1941 in Skipperville, Alabama; the daughter of Clydie and Clarence Hagler. Sandra and her family moved to Columbus, GA, she graduated from the Hallie Turner Private School in 1958. She began working at the Bibb Mill for many years before going to work with Lewis Jones-Piggly Wiggly. She worked there from 1986 till 2020 as an office assistant. Sandra married Daryl Maier, on July 15, 1959, they were married for 57 years. She and Daryl were faithful members of Evangel Church for many years. They especially enjoyed working in the church nursery together. Sandra loved being a wife, a mother, and a grandmother; she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family; including her cherished dogs, Missy, Smoky, Midnight and Dutchess, such faithful companions through the years.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Clydie and Clarence Hagler; and her husband, Daryl Maier.
Survivors include: her daughter, Rhonda and her husband, Allen; her granddaughter, Kristin Robertson and her husband Thomas, and her brother, Winford Hagler.
