
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in the Sanctuary of St. Luke United Methodist Church with Reverend John Adams and Reverend Cynthia Garrard officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA.
Interment will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 1:00 PM, at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery in Tunnel Springs, Alabama.
She was born on July 14, 1949, in Monroeville, Alabama, to Frances Dare Snowden and Jesse Andrew
Dees. A graduate of the University of Alabama, Mrs. Chappell was employed by the Columbus
Ledger-Enquirer as a reporter and the Pastoral Institute in the Business Resource Center until her
retirement. She was an active member of Columbus Rotary and the Discovery class at St. Luke United
Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Lawrence Chappell, Jr., her father, Jesse Andrew Dees, and two brothers, Edward Stuckey and Robert Stuckey.
She is survived by her two children, Jennifer Camille Chappell (Tony) of Columbus, Georgia, and William Samuel Chappell (Lindsey) of Conway, South Carolina, her sister, Kathy Elaine Dees of Orlando, Florida, her mother, Frances Dare Stuckey of Evergreen, Alabama, and her four beloved grandchildren, Ryan Matthew Kyle Dixon, Samuel William Lawrence Dixon and Jamie Sarah Camille Chappell, all of Columbus, Georgia, and William Luke Chappell, of Conway, South Carolina.
