Sarah Elizabeth Rhodes Lintymer, 91, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at The Oaks at Grove Park in Columbus, GA. Born in Altamaha, GA, Sarah was the daughter of the late Ollie Hartwell and Ollie Sheppard Rhodes and the widow of Dr. Steve Z. Lintymer.
She was a medical secretary, homemaker, and a dedicated member of Midway United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son, Norman McDonald, his wife, Diana, and their children, Samuel and Savannah of Newtown, PA; her daughter-in-law, Michelle Cleveland of Jacksboro, TN; her niece, Sandra Edith Reinhardt and husband, Jim of Rock Hill, SC; her nephew, Larry Dean Snead, and his wife Leigh of McDonough, GA.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sarah was preceded in death by her three brothers, Harrison, Dell, and Edwin Rhodes, and her sister, Edith Snead.
The family wishes to express their heart-felt gratitude and sincere appreciation to all the staff and caregivers at The Oaks at Grove Park and Gentiva Hospice for the loving kindness and compassion shown to Sarah throughout her residency.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 11:00AM, with Paul Buckheister officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service for a luncheon at one of Sarah’s favorite restaurants, Chef Lee’s Peking Restaurant, 6100 Bradley Park Drive, Columbus, GA 31904.
