Shalina Michelle Byrd, age 50, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024. A visitation for the family and friends of Shalina will be held Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Columbus, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4400 Reese Rd., Columbus, Georgia. Shalina will be laid to rest in Riverdale Cemetery, 1000 Victory Dr., Columbus, GA 31901.
Shalina was born on February 23, 1973 in Columbus, Georgia to Randy and Kathy Byrd. She was the middle child with an older sister, Terri Byrd, and a younger brother, Brandon Byrd. She was a loving and devoted aunt to Ansley and Aiden Byrd. She graduated from Shaw High School and was a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After graduation, Shalina entered the workforce and excelled to the position of manager in the industry in which she was involved. Her work ethic was impeccable and she enjoyed what she did. Shalina loved children, however never having any of her own, she was able to experience caring for her friend’s children as well as her own niece and nephew. She was a devoted friend and family member and was always happy to help in whatever capacity she could. She was truly a sweet soul who will be forever missed.
Shalina was preceded in death by her mother, Kathy Byrd, and her sister, Terri Byrd. She is survived by her father, Randy Byrd, her brother, Brandon Byrd, her niece, Ansley Byrd, and her nephew, Aiden Byrd.
