Shelby Jean Garrett

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 27, 2022 in Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Jared Owens officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. A visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Garrett was born on January 7, 1949 in Cataula, GA. to the late James Hancock and Mamie Lee Milam Hancock. She was preceded in death by siblings, Euel Powell (Linda), J.B. Powell (Christine), Bobby Powell (Bernice), Mary Jo Carpenter (Jack), Lena Caldwell (Jerry) and Shirley Menees.

She is survived by her daughter, Samantha Garrett (Danny) of Phenix City, AL, grandson, Dylan Brown of Phenix City, AL, a brother, James D. Powell (Sherry) of Columbus, GA a brother-in-law, Chuck Menees of Marion County, GA. and three bonus grandchildren, Stormy Davis, Sebastian Clay and CJ Clay.
