Family will visit with friends on Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Macon Rd. Columbus, Georgia. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Brad Parker officiating. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery.
Sherman Lee Adcock was born on December 4, 1940 in Dadeville, Alabama to the late Dorris Mask Adcock and Pete Adcock. He was the owner of Sherman’s Automotive, Inc. in Columbus, Georgia. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time outdoors at his home in Cataula, Georgia. Mr. Adcock also enjoyed motorsports especially in the NHRA Drag Racing, he was well known in the NHRA community. Mr. Adcock loved his family and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Raye B. Adcock; son, Sherman, Jr. (Michelle) Adcock; son, James “Woody” (Jane) Adcock; daughter, Melodi (Josh) Hopkins; son, Rodney Stillwell; daughter, Renee (Robbie) Armstrong; grandsons, Colton Stillwell and Sam Hopkins.
