Mrs. Cole was born in Columbus, GA. on December 7, 1947 to the late John F. Kelly and Julia Clarke Kelly. She had lived in Columbus for many years before moving to Eufaula, AL. Mrs. Cole was an avid collector of Porcelain Dolls, she loved Roses of any color and enjoyed collecting Indian Artifacts. She was a diehard Auburn fan and loved watching a good game. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life and she loved her two cats, Moma B and Baby. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Jean Tyler.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas A. Cole of Eufaula, AL. children, Ellis Irvin Smith, III of Eufaula, AL. and Shirley L. Carpenter of Buena Vista, GA., 9 grandchildren, Ronnie Tyler, Michael Smith, Justin Tyler, Harley Smith, Nicole Tyler, Gabbie Cole, Shelby Carpenter, Daniel Carpenter and Logan Cole and one great grandchild on the way.
