It is with deep love and gratitude that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and patriarch, Siaki “Sole” Mane of Columbus, GA, who peacefully passed away at the age of 93 on May 6, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.
Born May 2, 1933 on the island of Samoa, Siaki lived a life defined by faith, strength, service, and devotion to family. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served his country for 26 years followed by 35 years of civil service with honor and carried that same sense of duty and integrity throughout his life. He was also a devoted member of the Freemasons, where he built lifelong friendships and exemplified the values of brotherhood, charity, and respect. He was an Emeritus Member of Mt. Hermon Lodge #304 in Columbus, GA, a member of James E. Miller Daylight Lodge #760 as well as the Scottish Rite in Columbus, Mt. Hermon was his home lodge. In his personal time, he enjoyed gardening, grilling, and the sound of his guitar / ukulele.
Above all else, Siaki was the heart of a large and loving family whose lives were forever shaped by his wisdom, humor, guidance, and unconditional love. His legacy lives on through the generations he nurtured, traditions, and values he passed down.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous spirit, deep love for family, and the way he brought people together. Whether through food, laughter, storytelling, or simply his presence, he made everyone feel loved and welcomed.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing his life was long, meaningful, and filled with purpose. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Inge Mane; his parents, Taugapusi Gaea and Fiafaimane Ulugaogo of Samoa, along with five brothers.
