Stan was passionate about his career in the United States Army, where he served diligently as an active duty airborne infantryman. He obtained the badge with pistol bar, expert infantryman badge, parachutist badge, air assault badge, ranger tab, Special Forces tab, and Korean basic parachutist badge. Mr. Sheffield was a distinguished soldier, obtaining numerous medals, ribbons, qualifications, and served as a Sere Instructor and Combat Diver. He retired as a Master Sergeant with the U.S. Army Ranger Battalion and 1st Special Forces Group. After retirement, Stan met Chuchi, and remained faithfully married for twelve and a half years. Together they led a life guided by God and had a strong love for the Lord. He never missed an opportunity to share Jesus with anyone he came in contact with, and had a desire and passion to minister to the people in the Philippines. Stan not only supported them financially, but he sent Bibles and provided teachers to make sure the children there knew about Jesus. Stan loved to live life to the fullest, was daring, adventurous, always smiling and never sat still for long. He enjoyed motorcycling, dirt biking, kayaking, fishing, hiking, sailing, archery, hunting, camping, and traveling the world. He leaves behind a legacy of missionary work in the Philippines, a country and a culture that he had a deep love for. He gave everything he had to those less fortunate to him and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
