Steve Carver, age 55, of Columbus, GA suddenly passed away after having a heart attack on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Striffler-Hamby with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating.
Mr. Carver was born February 7, 1963 in Columbus, GA, the son of Lewis and Katherine Carver. He was a graduate of Jordan High School. After graduation he would work as a Surveyor and a CAD Draftsman before opening his own business, Horizon Technical Services. Steve was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing with his dog, Kila, most of all. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and loved going to his car and cranking up the tunes, especially southern rock and roll.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lew Carver. Survivors include his Mother, Katherine Carver; two children, Dylan and Austin Carver; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Debbie Carver; former spouse, Lori Carver; niece Erica Pickett and her husband Derek Pickett.
The family and the staff will be wearing camouflage in order to memorialize Mr. Carver. The family ask that you wear camouflage to the services if you can. In lieu of flowers please make your contributions to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources - Wildlife Resources Division.
