Steve A. Tovey

Steve A. Tovey, age 60, passed away on March 7, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, GA. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

Mr. Tovey was born on May 29, 1951 to Harold Richard Tovey and Mary Francis Lee Fondren in Phenix City, AL. He served in the United States National Guard and was retired from Ft. Benning as a Federal Firefighter after many years of dedicated service. He was a loving father, son, brother and friend and will be missed dearly. Mr. Tovey was preceded in death by his father, Harold Richard Tovey.

Survivors include his two daughters, Cristy Rhodes (James) of Savannah, GA and Stephanie Taylor (Chris) of Clarksville, TN; nine grandchildren; his mother, Mary Francis Fondren of Columbus; two brothers, Mike Tovey (Sheree) of Upatoi and Dwain Tovey (Pam) of Fortson; a sister, Ronda Todd of Columbus; two nieces and three nephews.
