Susan was born to the late Marlyn Ruth Schroeder and Gordan Cecil Glenz. She attended Turner Lee and Episcopal Day Schools and graduated from Escambia High School in 1968 where she was a member of Entra Amis Club. She attended the University of Alabama and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She graduated in 1972 in Speech Therapy where she then worked briefly in the Escambia School System until moving to Atlanta, Georgia where she earned a Master's Degree in Speech Therapy from Georgia State University. Susan taught in the Atlanta School System until retirement. She loved golf, family, and friends. She was a very good cook and enjoyed traveling and attending reunions.
Susan is survived by her beloved husband of 18 years; William Ford Pearce, Jr., of Columbus, GA, and his two sons; William Ford Pearce III, and Bradford Wilson Pearce. She is also survived by her only sibling; Nancy Voss and her husband; Navy Capt. (Ret.) Phillip Dane Voss. Other family include niece; Suzanne Elizabeth Voss and her two sons; Owen and Alexander Kerkeza, also Alexander Jason Kerkeza, niece; Lucy and Philip Bravo and children; Elizabeth, Dane, Marlyn Maria, and Abigail. Other beloved family include Kathryn and Navy Cdr. Steven Kukla and their children; Henry, Conrad, and Virginia, also, Navy Cdr. Matthew Voss and Erik Voss and his wife; Kelley Voss.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on November 2, 2023 at 1:00- 2:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 at the Striffler Hamby Chapel, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. A private burial ceremony will follow at Park Hill Cemetery.
