Susan C. Hickey

Susan Cooper Hickey, age 83, resident of Columbus, died on Monday, June 13, 2011 at Spring Harbor, Columbus. Graveside services will be held at Linwood Cemetery on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, 10 a.m. with Reverend Helen Berenthien and Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. Mrs. Hickey, daughter of the late John Thomas Cooper and Lucile Smith Cooper, was born August 21, 1927 in the Wynn House, Columbus. She was a homemaker and member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hickey was actively involved in both the PTA and Girl Scouts, and enjoyed her Bridge Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William Wood Hickey and also a sister, Lucile Cooper Plourde. Mrs. Hickey is survived by two daughters, Marilu Hickey Novy and her husband George Novy of Columbus and Susan Hickey Mitchell and her husband Floyd Mitchell, also of Columbus; and three grandchildren, Laura Faye Mitchell, William Thomas Mitchell, and Thomas Cooper Mitchell, all of Columbus.
