“Nana” was quick to share with her family. Sometimes it was a hug, and at other times a special cake, but in all cases, her love was felt most.
She and her late husband served five different Assemblies of God churches in Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Texas over their fifty years of ministry. She complemented his ministry by teaching Sunday School classes for children and adults, delivering illustrated sermons, and by being a loving wife and partner. For the past 30 years, Wylena served in many capacities at North Highland Assemblies of God Church and rarely did a day go by that she was not serving others in the name of Jesus Christ, her savior. Her faith in Christ was always the most important thing in her life.
Her life will be celebrated in the Fisher Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Columbus on July 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Parkhill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the M 2540 fund at North Highland Church Kingdom Builders.
